Album Notes AND I LOVE YOU SO is a collection of ten great songs sung in the unmistakably relaxed style of Perry Como. Making it appear to be effortless is part of the Como concept and the Como charm. Of his early years we know that he was a barber, and sang professionally for the first time in 1933 joining The Ted Weems Band in 1936. He started recording as a sole artiste in 1943 ad had several Top 10 successes both in the UK and U.S.A. Perry was one of the first recording artistes to have his very own weekly TV programme which was the first of the American Shows to be shown on a regular basis in Britain. Perry's famous relaxed style was developed on his T.V. Shows which had the effect of making the audience feel the warmth of his friendly personality. He maintains ge is not basically as relaxed as he appears and that he is really a perfectionist who likes to be in control for his audience. In private life he is a man of simple tastes. Never one for the public eye he has deliberately shyed away from any interference with his home life. In his own words "If I had to make a choice between being a famous singer and enjoying my family — well, I wouldn't want any part of singing or the fame or the money". Fortunately for us he was never forced to make that choice and with his down to earth philosophies and his continuing success, the songs of Perry Como will be with us for years to come.
