RECORDING SESSIONS
 
This is one of Perry's most significant and well executed "theme" albums but it is clear that the idea developed over a long period of time and as a result of considerable experimentation. Recordings for the album appear to have begun as early as June, 1956, continuing to late February, 1957.  All of the recordings predate full stereo but many of them may have been recorded in two channel binaural, especially those recorded in early 1957.
