These are Perry's really long lost hits of the 1940s. Whilst some have begun to turn up in compact disc compilations, none were released in an LP album format following their original issue. There has never been a comprehensive compilation of Perry's 1940 recordings. For one reason or another, album compilations have tended to deal with Perry's recordings in a random manner. Most album compilations tend to jump from pillar to post throughout Perry's long recording career with little or no concern for chronological relevance. Recordings from the 1940s, like those of the 1930s and before, should be listened to within the context of their era, from both technical and artistic perspectives.
