- Perry Como has been described as the most relaxing popular
- singer of all time. Once a barber and later a featured singer in the
- Ted
Weems band, Como really hit it big in the mid-'40s
- via his radio series and
a host of hit records on Victor. When television
- came along, Como went along
with it, heading one of its
- most successful and longest running series. And
now into the '70s,
- Perry Como is still recording hit after hit.
- With his
smooth, easy singing style and relaxed and soothing manner,
- it's little
wonder why his career has flourished so long.
