It's Impossible!

The situation involving Perry Como's RCA Victor recordings isn't exclusive to Perry or his recordings.

The popular music industry is caught in a Catch-22 situation; whereas technology has been jumping in leaps and bounds with the possibility of better recordings than we've ever heard before, the ability of consumers to make their own copies and share files through the Internet has cast a death knell on the legitimate prospects of releasing these recordings as they deserve to be heard, re-mixed and remastered from original first generation sources.

It simply can't be done profitably, it's impossible!

The market is now flooded with bootleg and pirated recordings which most people agree sound awful. Standards are lower than they have ever been in the era of high-fidelity music. Whilst the labels have been actively combating the pirates and Internet file sharing with law suits,  they are also releasing sub-standard recordings of their own making it virtually impossible for consumers to separate the wheat from the chafe. Most fans agree that these so-called legitimate recordings are not satisfactory and, in many instances, not much better than the pirates themselves. As the labels lose confidence with their customers, music lovers lose confidence with the labels and justify more copying and file sharing. Neither side trusts the other!

What can we do about all of this?

50 Years of Music! We are  working on a project to release a number of Perry's original RCA Victor albums ourselves, re-mixed and remastered by top-notch engineers, with the same integrity as they were first recorded. Albums on the list include "Look to Your Heart" from 1968, "Lightly Latin" and "Perry Como In Italy" from 1966, "The Scene Changes" from 1965, and the unreleased tracks from Perry's last Nashville sessions between 1973 and 1975, all of which have been locked in the RCA archives for years. Once these are completed, we intend to focus our attention on the proper re-release of Perry's five Hugo & Luigi albums re-mixed and remastered from first generation sources for the first time ever with all unreleased tracks included.

All of these will be available initially to our members ONLY and then through normal retail sales should the RCA Records label and Perry's family agree. Don't count on that!

Please come and join us. It is our intention to bring respect and dignity back to Perry's recorded legacy.
