Lyricist Dick Manning was born in Gomel, Russia, on June 12th, 1912, less than one month after Perry was born.  A long-time and prolific Como composer Dick Manning co wrote many hit records and popular standards recorded by Perry over a twenty year period stretching from "Nyot N'Yow ( The Pussycat Song )" which Perry performed a cappella with The Fontane Sisters, his first recording with them, in December of 1948 through to "Buongiorno Teresa" in 1968 which was introduced in his 1969 "Seattle" album.
