Notes: ~ the name James Royce Shannon is a pseudonym for James Joyce
who added the words to the melody originally published in 1914 and based
on "an original melody procured by John Valentine Eppell." It became the
official state song of Missouri and later was associated with President Harry
Truman, who would often play it on the piano for guests at the White House.
