WARNING:
This compact disc has yet to be
reviewed but it's understood that the tracks represent Perry's charted hit
singles in the UK between the years 1958 and the early 1970s. If the CD
lives up to the implication of it's title "The Masters" then all
tracks should have been sourced from first generation masters and, hence,
they should all be released here in stereo. Both "Catch a Falling
Star" and "Magic Moments" were recorded in late 1957 and
hit records for Perry in 1958. Both of these recordings were recorded in
two track binaural stereo. Quality is
dependent on original sources and this has yet to be identified for these
recordings. As a rule of thumb, if there is no engineer listed, or a
specific date given for digital remastering, including location of same,
it should be assumed that the sources are secondary and quality is likely
to be variable. Hopefully, the quality of these recordings is first rate
and all released in stereo as they should be.
