Notes:

This special BMG / Buddha CD compilation includes the whole of Perry's second full "Living Stereo" album recorded in 1958. These inspirational songs are among Perry Como's finest performances and a perfect matching of the man and his music. Perry commonly ended his weekly television show with an inspirational song and those featured within this album were regularly featured in this respect.  This is the first complete re-release of these songs by BMG in real stereo since the time of their original issue in 1958. Earlier this year this same compilation was included within a budget two-fer album by the third-party label Collectables Records but the majority of re-releases from this album have been in either monaural or fake stereo. A superb collection beautifully performed by Perry with the Ray Charles Singers and Mitchell Ayres' Orchestra, these songs must be heard in real stereo to be fully appreciated. The highlight of this CD compilation, however, is the first REAL stereo release of Perry's "Ave Maria" and "The Lord's Prayer" both of which he recorded in October, 1959, with the Male Voices of the Robert Shaw Chorale, conducted by Mitchell Ayres. These recordings were produced by Charles Grean. Although originally released on a very limited distribution stereo single, all re-releases since that time have been either monaural or fake stereo. These recordings were located in the RCA Victor Archives this year, just prior to Perry's death, not having been off the shelves in more than forty years. They have both been re-mixed from the original three-track masters for inclusion here. The difference between these recordings in stereo when compared to the monaural or fake stereo versions is stunning. Also re-mixed from original three-track session tape to real stereo is "I Know What God Is" produced by Charles Grean and recorded by Perry in December of 1959. This song was first released as the flip side to Perry's hit single "Delaware" and commonly reissued in either monaural or "electronically reprocessed" stereo.
