All
tracks, with the exception of "Caterina" and
"Delaware" are from the 1957 RCA Victor album
LPM-1463 "We Get Letters," which was Mr. Como's
last recorded album prior to the stereophonic era
beginning in early 1958. There is a high probability that
these tracks were recorded in a two-track binaural stereo
format and mixed-down to monaural. Some recordings from
this era have inadvertently been released by the label
owners in recent years but historically they have denied
the existence of these recordings. Time-Life Music
recently released a binaural version of Mr. Como's 1957
recording of "Catch a Falling Star" with
remarkable results. It is available in their compact disc
series "YOUR HIT PARADE" on the
"1958" compilation.
"Delaware"
was recorded December 28, 1959 and "Caterina"
was recorded February 14, 1962. Although released only in
monaural within this compilation, both have been
subsequently released in stereo. "Caterina" was
first released in real stereo within the 1970 RCA Victor
compilation "This Is Perry Como" VPS-6026 (e)
and "Delaware" was released in 1993 within the
compact disc box set "Yesterday & Today ~ A
Celebration in Song."
