
| Frank Loesser (1910-1969), composer and lyricist, was born in New York to a musical family. Although trained in the classical tradition, Loesser was fascinated with popular music and wrote songs while he worked as a newspaper reporter. Although he only wrote six Broadway musicals, he was known for being one of the most versatile Broadway artists of his time. His other successes include: Where’s Charley? (1948), Guys and Dolls ( 1950 ), The Most Happy Fella (1956) and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1961). |
